Dr. Pereira, is a Postdoctoral Pediatric Psychology Fellow in Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation at New York Medical College and Maria Fareri Children's Hospital. She completed an APA-accredited internship at Child Clinical and Pediatric Psychology at Metrohealth Center in Cleveland, Ohio. She earned an M.A. at The New School in psychology before earning a Ph.D. at the APA-Accredited Pacific Graduate School of Psychology at Palo Alto University. Dr. Pereira conducted her doctoral research on the process and benefits of making video testimonials in adolescents with cancer. Her current research focuses on the expansion of this research in AYA survivors of cancer and family members of young people diagnosed with cancer; as well as projects involving outcomes of Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Patients and other peer support programs for patients and families with pediatric cancer and blood disorders.
